"God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God" A photo Essay by Paul and Christian Parlee

Stratford Ontario is home to the Pork Congress of Ontario, 30,000 people, The Stratford Festival and the biggest concentration of Methamphetimine abuse in all of Ontario. It is also placed right in the bible belt of South Western Ontario. As a result there are quite a few escatological churches that have found a great amount of support within the community. The main belief behind the concept of escatology is the idea that destruction of the world is imminent and that only belief in Jesus Christ as the true savior can save you. We have decided to document them during the cold winter months. Small town religion has never looked so big.

Amazing. It's good (?) to know that the american south isn't the only place wacky "christians" drop anchor. Ditto with the methamphetamine.

HAHAHA
Oh yeah man, I grew up around both.
I remember there being a huge meth problem when i was growing up and its only recently gotten particularly bad now (apparently). From what i heard, its literally been imported from the south (thanks Niel, i hold you personally responsible). I didnt even get to touch on the presence of the Dutch reformed church. Ech.

It took me quite a while to appreciate religion, but currently attend study at a Catholic university college in Waterloo, Ontario (St. Jerome's University) and have done so for quite a few years now. We met initially at a very awkward time in my life. I'm better situated presently and would very much like to catch up if you would be amenable to this, particularly as it would seem we have many shared interests.

Sincerely, your old friend
